Ferguson hits back at Benitez

Sir Alex Ferguson has hit back at Rafa Benitez's blistering attack on the Manchester United manager last Friday, claimin that the Liverpool boss is "disturbed".

Benítez accused Ferguson of influencing both referees and the Premier League fixture list during a four-minute outburst last week.

Speaking after United's 3-0 demolition of title rivals Chelsea this afternoon, Ferguson said: "Well I think you have got to cut through the venom of it, and hopefully he will reflect and understand that what he was saying was absolutely ridiculous. I think he was an angry man and I think he was disturbed for some reason. That's all I've got to say about it."

With United hot on Liverpool's heels and the two rival managers trying to unnerve each other it looks as if it will be on of the best Premier League finales for years.
