Ferguson accuses Benitez of "arrogance"
Sir Alex Ferguson has slammed Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez accusing the Spaniard of "arrogance" and showing "contempt" towards other Premier League managers.
The Manchester United boss attacked Benitez after the Spaniard described Everton as a "small club" before criticising the Liverpool manager's conduct towards Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce last week.
"Everton are a big club, not a small one which Benitez arrogantly said," Ferguson told reporters. "But arrogance is one thing. You cannot forgive contempt, which is what he showed Sam Allardyce last weekend."
The United boss continued: "When Liverpool scored their second goal he signalled as if the game was finished. I do not think Sam deserved that. I just thought it showed contempt. In my experience no Liverpool manager has ever done that. It was beyond the pale."
The latest spat between Fergie and Rafa should make the title race run in even more exciting.
