Who are the World's Most Famous Tennis Players

Boris Becker is probably one of the most familiar names in tennis and for good reason too. Not only has the German tennis star won many tennis tournaments including Wimbledon, he is also known for being more than slightly controversial.  Although no longer playing professional tennis, he makes regular appearances on both German and British television.

Another of the most famous tennis players in history is Bjorn Borg. Called the Ice Man by his fans and press alike, he set many a tennis court alight with his talent in the 1970s. He is also one of the only tennis players in history to win Wimbledon and the French open several times. Andre Agassi is one of the more modern famous tennis players and it is Agassi who can be thanked for making the game of tennis more attractive, at least to his legion of female fans. Despite winning several tournaments including a grand slam, Agassi experienced many difficulties during his career.

Maybe the most well known of the female famous tennis players is Chris Evert, who experienced a long-standing battle to be the best female star with another famous female tennis player Martina Navratilova. Chris Evert recently won serious acclaim from the Tennis Standard, who pegged her as tennis great.

Steffi Graf dominated women’s tennis in the 90s, with her natural talent the German star went on to win many tennis tournaments and still plays occasionally. Funnily enough, Steffi Graf is now happily married to another of the world's most famous tennis players, Andre Agassi.
