Arsenal's season was dealt a hammer blow today with the news that captain and midfield maestro Cesc Fabregas could be out of action for up to four months.
The Spanish midfielder was injured in a tackle during the Gunners' draw with Liverpool on Sunday and it has now been revealed that he suffered medial knee damage.
Arsene Wenger spoke about the injury today: "It will take three to four months, we count four. He will be working hard to come back earlier but I count four months."
The Gunners are already missing midfielders Tomas Rosicky and Theo Walcott through injury and with Fabregas now joining that list Wenger may be forced to do some business during the January transfer window.
