Fabianski: I'm ready for Chelsea

Arsenal reserve goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski believes that he is ready to play against Chelsea this weekend following his confident display last night during the Gunners' 3-1 away to Partizan Belgrade.

The 25-year-old, whose high-profile errors last season earned him the nickname ‘Flappyhandski’, produced a number of excellent saves late in the game including a penalty stop.

With Arsenal’s No.1 Manuel Almunia recovering from an elbow injury picked up during his calamitous display against West Brom at the weekend, Fabianski may be given his chance in Sunday’s crunch match at Stamford Bridge.

Arsene Wenger was delighted with Fabianski's performance last night and afterward the Polish international told reporters that he would relish the challenge of trying to keep Chelsea at bay.

‘I am ready to play against Chelsea. I was always ready, so we will see,’ the 25-year-old said. ‘I was never really bothered by all the things said. I was always trying to focus on my job and my work. That is what I was always doing and that why I am grounded.’
