Euro 2008 semi-final preview: Spain-Russia
Spain and Russia meet tonight in Vienna in the second semi-final of Euro 2008. History is on the side of the Iberians with Russia (former USSR) not tasting victory over Spain since 1971.
Luis Aragones side also beat Russia 4-1 in both teams' opening game of Euro 2008, but it is unlikely that Guus Hiidink's side will be as naive at the back this time round. Russia were also without Andrei Arshavin in the loss to Spain and the diminutive Zenit St Petersburg player showed in the quarter-final win over Holland that he has the quality to make the difference.
David Villa and Fernando Torres will again be paired up front for Spain but it will be interesting to see if Fabregas starts or if Aragones decides to leave the Arsenal midfielder on the bench again. The bookies are predicting a Spanish victory but Russia have the quality to win a place in Sunday's final.
