Euro 2008 semi-final preview: Germany-Turkey
Germany take on Turkey tonight in the first semi-final of Euro 2008. Joachim Low's team are at full strength and will be looking to build on their impressive win over Portugal in the quarter-finals. Turkey meanwhile will be without a number of key players through injury and suspension.
Michael Ballack's Germany are firm favourites tonight with the Chelsea midfielder in the form of his life, Jens Lehman looking solid in goals and Lukas Podolski finally delivering on some of his early promise. Torsten Frings is also expected to return to the starting XI after missing the Portugal game through injury.
Turkey, on the other hand, will have to plan without the suspended forwards Tuncay, Arda and goalkeeper Volkan, while captain Nihat is out of the tournament with a thigh injury. But Germany, favourites to win Euro 2008, will be wary of writing off Fatih Terim's side following Turkey's remarkable late comebacks against Switzerland and Croatia. Who do you think will win tonight?
