Spain beat Germany 1-0 in the final of Euro 2008 at Vienna last night. Fernando Torres got the all important goal in the first-half stealing in between Philipp Lahm and Jens Lehmann to finish clinically on 33 minutes.
Torres' goal was enough to see Spain lift their first major trophy in 44 years. After an encouraging opening 15 minutes Germany struggled to cope with Spain's ability to control possession and dictate the pace of the game.
Luis Aragones' team completely dominated the second-half with Germany looking increasingly tired in defence and devoid of ideas going forward. Spain played excellent football throughout the tournament, running out as deserved winners of Euro 2008.
