England won ugly on Saturday night against Andorra thanks to two second half goals from Joe Cole. While there were some boos at half time for Fabio Capello's men, the team picked up three points and no injuries. It should be remembered that the Italian is known for getting the job done rather than champagne football.
Tomorrow's game against Croatia in Zagreb is the most difficult game of the qualifying campaign and the first real test for Capello's England. Slaven Bilic's side enjoy bragging rights having beaten England twice on the road to Euro 2008.
Rio Ferdinand is set to return to partner John Terry in the centre of the defence after missing the win over Andorra. Joe Cole also looks set to start alongside Emile Heskey while Theo Walcott is pushing hard to take David Beckham's place on the right wing. A decent result tomorrow would silence Capello's critics and set England on the road to South Africa.
