England get ready for Andorra and Croatia
England will play the first competitive game of the Capello era on Saturday night against Andorra in Barcelona. While it should be an easy three points, the Italian will be hoping that the team give a commanding performance ahead of next Wednesday's trip to Zagreb to take on Croatia.
The English press has already started to question Capello's ability to get to grips with the problems that his predecessors failed to address, i.e. the leaky defence and the lack of width in midfield. A bad result against Croatia could really see the knives come out.
Unfortunately for the former Real Madrid and Milan boss, it looks as if Rio Ferdinand and Joe Cole will miss the Andorra game, while Frank Lampard, John Terry, Ashley Cole and Wes Brown only started full training yesterday. A good performance against Andorra, a venue which saw England fans turn on Steve McLaren last time round, could be the key to getting a positive result against Croatia.
