Drogba: I want to end my career at Chelsea
Didier Drogba has said that he would like to end his career at Chelsea. Speaking at the launch of his autobiography yesterday, the Ivory Coast hit man said that he hopes to sign a new deal with the Blues when his current contract runs out in two years.
"I have created a good relationship with the players and the staff. I am not scared of new challenges but I am very happy at Chelsea. I would love to finish my career here. Of course I would sign a new contract if the club offered me one."
The former Marseille striker has been consistently linked with a move overseas ever since former Blues boss Jose Mourinho left the club early last season. But he now says that he is settled at Chelsea and delighted with the team's progress under new boss Luis Felipe Scolari.
"I like the way Scolari deals with the players," Drogba told reporters. "I haven't had the chance to play much under him yet but the few minutes I've had have been fantastic because the movement is better. Also, when a new manager comes you always try to do a little bit more than you were doing before."
