Diouf joins Blackburn from Sunderland for £2m

El-Hadji Diouf has joined Blackburn Rovers from Sunderland for £2m less than six months after swapping the Reebok for the Stadium of Light. The move will see the Senegal international link up again with his former manager at Bolton Sam Allardyce.

The 26-year-old forward will go straight into the Blackburn squad for tomorrow's game against Middlesbrough. Speaking of Diouf, Allardyce told reporters: "He is a talented player. He can be a little wayward, as everybody knows, but hopefully I'll be able to control him as much as I did when I was at Bolton."

The Blackburn boss is also hoping that the Senegal striker can bring a bit of flair to Ewood Park: "In the time I spent with him we always finished in the top half of the Premier League, no lower than eighth, and we played in Europe. Hopefully he can bring his ability, his trickery to Ewood Park, and delight some of the Blackburn fans.”
