Di Canio emerges as favourite for West Ham job
Paolo Di Canio has emerged as favourite to take over the vacant West Ham job after both Slaven Bilic and Harry Redknapp ruled themselves out of running.
According to the Sun, Di Canio would be interested in taking up the position having recently completed his coaching badges. The appointment of the Italian would go a long way to appease West Ham's fans who had lost patience with former boss Alan Curbishley.
Di Canio still has close ties to the club, persuading Torino striker David Di Michele to join the Hammers on loan for the season. Former Inter Milan boss, Roberto Mancini, has also been linked to the vacant manager's job, but Di Canio has made it clear that he wants to become West Ham manager.
"My dream team is West Ham. I keep the club in my heart. One day I hope to come back to London and sit on the bench at West Ham." He could soon be getting his wish.
