Cuban Taekwondo athelete kicks ref in the face
There's been lots of complaining about the Chinese officials at the Olympics, with accusations of home bias and looking the other way when foreigners are scoring. We, being British, tend to go for the slightly miffed stare, perhaps coupled with a strongly worded letter. Not so the Cubans.
Angel Matos was beating Kazakhstan's Arman Chilmanov 3-2 when he fell to the ground injured. As he waited for medical attention, the Olympic judges disqualified him for taking too long. His response, as the AP photos show, was to kick one of the judges hard in the head. His punishment - pretty harsh. He's been banned from the sport for life.
