Liverpool have been linked with a shock £12m bid for former striker Peter Crouch. The England international joined Portsmouth last summer considered surplus to requirements after three years at Anfield.
Crouch has been linked with moves to Sunderland, Tottenham and Fulham in recent weeks but the Daily Star reports that Rafa Benitez could be about to admit he was wrong and buy back the player he offloaded last year after Liverpool's attempts to sign David Villa have come to no fruition.
Pompey manager Paul Hart told reporters that he is resigned to losing the England striker despite the club's takeover by Sulaiman Al Fahim: "I don't even think about those things, it's not an intrusion. Peter Crouch is a fantastic kid. He has been training with us, what hardship is that? It isn't, it's just brilliant."
"If it goes on, it goes on. It's absolutely no hardship to us, the longer he stays it's fine, it wouldn't affect us because he's a pleasure to have around the place."
