Cristiano Ronaldo crowned the Fifa World Player of the Year

Cristiano Ronaldo was today crowned the Fifa World Player of the Year to cap a sensational year for the Portugal winger. The 23-year-old Manchester United player also said that he has no plans to join Real Madrid in the near future.

Ronaldo will probably have to buy a new trophy cabinet as he attempts to find a home for all of the awards that he has scooped over the last 12 months, from Champions League and Premier League winners medals to the Ballon d'Or, the PFA Player of the Year as well as the Player's Player of the Year.

The Portugal winger is the first Premier League player to have been awarded the Fifa World Player of the Year, with David Beckham, Thierry Henry and Frank Lampard all coming close in second place in the past.
