Cricket back in the Olympics?
The nostalgic sound of leather on willow may perhaps be heard in the Olympic stadia of London 2012.
The International Olympic Committee has given cricket official recognition, which could see the sport back in the games for the first time since 1900.
What next? Golf back in the Olympics? The introduction of chess? Darts? Yodelling? Happy-slapping? Binge-drinking?
We’re not against cricket as an Olympic sport per se, but where does it all end? We thought Olympic sports were about running, jumping and throwing.
In 1900, by the way, Great Britain beat France. We’d probably just about manage that today.
Anyone got any other ideas for Olympic sports?
