Manchester City are apparently considering making a third offer for Chelsea captain John Terry, who they feel is still a viable transfer target until he makes a public statement regarding his future.
Chelsea have made it clear to City – through both Carlo Ancelotti and Peter Kenyon – that Terry is not for sale, but according to the Guardian City think that Terry’s silence on the issue is a sign he might be prepared to move.
Mark Hughes is a fan of Terry and it’s been made clear that he wants him, and that he has the money to get him. However, Terry would have to put a formal transfer request in for the move to have any chance, and City are pinning their hopes on him wanting an even bigger payday than the one he’s getting at Chelsea while he’s till in his prime. Until the England captain makes public his decision his future will remain in doubt.
