City fine Robinho £200,000 for training walkout

Manchester City are reported to have fined Brazilian striker Robinho a staggering £200,000 following his walkout from the club's training camp in Tenerife last week.

The former Real Madrid player flew back to Brazil without the permission of City boss Mark Hughes citing 'family business'. Robinho is believed to have been upset at the collapse of City's failed attempt to bring Kaka to Eastlands.

Hughes has been under the media microscope following the Brazil international's strop, but the former Blackburn manager has stated that he is in control of the situation: "I've had a talk with Robinho," Hughes told reporters. "I have read some of the things that have been said this morning but nothing could be further from the truth. I have told Robby about the situation and our intention is to fine him. What I would like to say is that he will be treated no differently to any other member of the squad."
