City allow Tevez to prolong Argentina stay

The striker had been due to fly back to England today but was advised by medical staff to remain in Buenos Aires in order to rest a thigh injury.

Tevez had been granted a short break with his family in Buenos Aires to sort out what City boss Roberto Mancini described as ‘personal problems’. The Argentina international is reported to be so homesick that he is contemplating quitting the Premier League altogether.

City and Tevez had been flying high until the defeat to Arsenal two-weeks ago and the former West Ham player was sorely missed during the lacklustre 2-1 away defeat to Wolves on Saturday.

Mancini has rubbished reports of a dressing room revolt following the game at Molineux, however, the Italian did criticize a number of players who were snapped drinking at a student house party in Edinburgh last week.

Gareth Barry, Shay Given, Adam Johnson and Joe Hart were filmed drinking well after their bedtimes in the Scottish capital and the footage was later sold to The Sun.
