Chelsea's title hopes in tatters after draw with Wigan

Emile Heskey will be the toast of Manchester United fans this morning after his 93rd minute goal for Wigan left Chelsea's title hopes in tatters.

The Blues had taken the lead through a Michael Essien goal in the 55th minute following a listless first half performance which saw Chris Kirkland produce a string of excellent saves to keep Wigan in the game.

While Chelsea boss Avram Grant believes that his team can still win the title, they'll have to beat Everton at Goodison Park on Thursday night and then United at home on April 26.

While he was without Drogba and Lampard due to injury and a family illness respectively, Grant's decision to rest Claude Makelele, Ricardo Carvalho as well as Joe and Ashley Cole completely backfired.

The Chelsea boss cut a lonely figure on the sidelines throughout and looked visibly shaken by Heskey's goal at the end. The fans have never warmed to Grant and it looks like he'll have to win the Champions League if he has any chance of keeping his job.

No doubt Sir Alex the Ferg opened a few vintage bottles of schadenfreude in Manchester last night to raise a toast to Emile Heskey's health.
