Chelsea take on Liverpool in the Champions League semi-final
In 2005 there was Luis Garcia's so-called 'phantom' goal which booked the Reds trip to Istanbul and then last year Liverpool won again after a dramatic penalty shoot-out which saw Rafa doing his best sitting Buddha impression on the Anfield turf.
Benítez thinks that the current Liverpool team is better than both the 2005 and 2007 vintages and it's hard not to agree. Where once there was Milan Baros now there's Fernando Torres, for Vladimir Smicer there's Javier Mascherano, while Djimi Traoré, the man with all the poise of a newly born gazelle, has long been told to sling his hook.
Chelsea will be at full strength with Frank Lampard, Michael Ballack and Didier Drogba returning to the side. Notably this time round the first leg is at Anfield as opposed to Stamford Bridge in both 2005 and 2007.
The build up to the semi-final has been pretty low-key compared to previous encounters mainly due to the absence of Jose Mourinho, but if Chelsea can pull off a result tonight, Avram Grant may finally be able to kill off the ghost of the Special One that haunts the bench at Stamford Bridge.
