Chelsea set to make £20m bid for Mirko Vucinic

Chelsea are reported to be set to table a £20m bid for Roma striker Mirko Vucinic. The Montenegro captain snubbed a possible move to Spurs last week, but could be tempted to join the Blues while Roma need to raise money to pay their mounting debts.

The Serie A side are reported to be desperate to hang onto their highly rated midfielder Daniele De Rossi but are willing to listen to offers for both Vucinic and Alberto Aquilani. Manchester United are also said to be interested in Vucinic but may not be willing to stump up £17m for the 25-year-old.

The Montenegro striker spoke recently about his future: "At the moment it's useless to talk because there aren't any offers, If one should arrive I will talk with the club and we'll see."

"Obviously there are places where I would not want to go. Tottenham? Let's reject that. I would be sorry to leave Roma, also because I have just renewed my contract."

Well he's sure to be an instant favourite with Spurs fans after that outburst.
