Chelsea miss chance to go top of the Premier League
Chelsea missed their chance to go top of the Premier League last night when they drew 0-0 with Everton at Goodison Park. The Blues also had skipper John Terry sent off for a dangerous tackle on Leon Osman and he will now miss the club's next two games against West Brom and Fulham.
While Chelsea started the game well going close to opening the scoring through Ashley Cole, it was Everton who controlled the first half. But just as Chelsea began to get back on top Terry was shown a straight red for a high tackle on 35 minutes.
Osman and Joleon Lescott both went close to breaking the deadlock for Everton, but Petr Cech produced two brilliant saves to earn a point for his team. Luis Felipe Scolari may have more to worry about than kidney stones as his Chelsea side struggled to take advantage of Liverpool's draw with Arsenal at the weekend.
