Chelsea look set to miss out on Villa and Aguero
Chelsea look to have lost out on the signing of two of their two main transfer targets: David Villa and Sergio Aguero. Villa is reported to be in talks with Real Madrid about a possible move to the Bernabeu while Atletico Madrid want at least £55m for Argentina striker Aguero.
Representatives from Chelsea conducted negotiations today with Valencia president Manuel Llorente about a possible deal for Villa, but it was all bad news for the Blues with Llorente making it clear that the 27-year-old is in talks with Madrid.
"Chelsea made an important offer for him," Llorente told reporters following the meeting. "But the answer (from Valencia) was "no" because negotiations with Real Madrid are very advanced. Hence, there's no possibility that Villa will go to Chelsea because he wants to go to Real Madrid."
Elsewhere the Blues are reported to have made a £45m bid for the 21-year-old Aguero, but the player is said to be demanding wages of over £200,000 per week while Atletico are reluctant to sell their star striker for anything less than £55m.
