Chelsea hammered AC Milan 5-0 in the pre-season Railways Cup in Moscow with Nicolas Anelka scoring four times after Frank Lampard had opened the scoring from a free-kick. New Blues boss Luiz Felipe Scolari hailed the Frenchman's clinical performance.
Although it was only a pre-season friendly, the game gave an insight into Scolari's Chelsea which seems much more focused on attacking football, with Malouda and Shaun Wright-Phillips providing width on the flanks. While Milan were missing Kaka, Pato and Ronaldinho up front, but it was in defence that the Serie A team suffered the most.
Chelsea humiliated the Milan goalkeeper Kalac, who had a game to forget. The Australian let Lampard's free-kick slip through his legs before missing a simple clearance kick which allowed Anelka to slot his second goal into the unguarded net.
