Chelsea go top while Arsenal lose at home
Chelsea are top of the Premier League tonight after Big Phil’s side beat Stoke City 2-0 at the Britannia Stadium thanks to goals from Jose Bosingwa and Nicolas Anelka. The Blues just about did enough to deserve the points.
It was business as usual at Old Trafford for Manchester United who overcame Bolton 2-0. Wayne Rooney came off the bench to get his first goal of the season, but United were given a penalty for a non-existent foul on Cristiano Ronaldo.
Liverpool ran out convincing winners in the Merseyside derby beating Everton 2-0. Fernando Torres got a brace while a lacklustre Everton had Tim Cahill sent off for a terrible tackle on Xavi Alonso.
Arsenal enjoyed a bad day at the office losing at home to newly promoted Hull. The Gunners went ahead through a McShane own goal, but a screamer from Geovanni and a Daniel Cousin header to give the Tigers a famous win.
Man Utd 2 Bolton 0
Arsenal 1 Hull 2
