Chelsea kept their dreams of winning the Premier League title alive with a 1-0 win over Manchester City at Stamford Bridge this afternoon. Victory in the so-called 'clash of the cash' leaves the Blues just four points adrift of Manchester United at the top of the league table.
Michael Essien continued his hot streak since returning from injury scoring the game's only goal midway through the first half. Chelsea have missed the Ghana midfielder this season and his return will be crucial to their slim title hopes.
City again showed why they have the worst away record in the Premier League with a lacklustre display devoid of any drive or ambition. Mark Hughes' side had the woodwork to thank for not going 2-0 down in the second half when Belletti's 20-yard effort struck the post, but their was no way back for City at that point.
