Chelsea beat Bayer Leverkusen 2-0

It was a good night for London in the Champions League last night: not only did Arsenal get a creditable draw at Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea brushed Bayer Leverkusen aside 2-0, making it England 2-0 Germany. That's always nice to see isn't it?

Goals from David Luis and Juan Mata gave Chelsea the three points and the perfect start in the competition, and even Fernando Torres put in a good display, setting up both goals and looking like a striker who could do some damage in Europe.

'We have to be fair that Leverkusen went one on one with our goalkeeper before we scored, but we had numerous chances throughout the game,' said Chelsea manager André Villas-Boas. 'We deserved to win this game.

'An international week has gone by, then we had Sunderland after two days and then, after another two days, a Champions League win against a very tough team. But I'm pleased, particularly with good passing and fluency in the game.'
