Chelsea beat Arsenal to reach FA Cup final

Didier Drogba fired Chelsea into the FA Cup final scoring a late goal to hand the Blues victory over London rivals Arsenal at Wembley. The game was decided by some terrible goalkeeping with neither Petr Cech or Lukasz Fabianski covering themselves in glory.

Chelsea almost took an early lead when Fabianski set the tone for the rest of the game by needlessly rushing out of his area to try and meet a long punt forward. Drogba headed the ball goalwards and only some defensive heroics by Kieran Gibbs kept the score's level.

Despite the early scare it was Arsenal who took the lead when Theo Walcott volleyed home a Gibbs' centre. While the England winger's shot took a slight deflection off Ashley Cole, Petr Cech didn't cover himself in glory in the Chelsea goal.

Thankfully for the Czech international, his team-mates were able to spare his blushes. Late in the first half Florent Malouda collected a Frank Lampard cross-field ball before scoring with a right foot shot which beat Fabianski at the near post.

Lampard was again on hand 7 minutes from time to supply a killer pass. Fabianski needlessly rushed out of his area with the hope of clearing the through ball but was left clutching thin air. Drogba brushed off the efforts of Mikaël Silvestre before scoring into the empty net. Chelsea will now face either Manchester United or Everton in the final.
