Chelsea 4 Wolves 0

Chelsea laid down a marker to their Premier League rivals with a commanding 4-0 win over Wolves at Stamford Bridge this afternoon. Carlo Ancelotti has now lead The Blues to a record twelve wins in a row who must be odds on favourites for the title even at this early stage of the season.

Despite having to do without the services of Frank Lampard, Michael Ballack and Didier Drogba through injury, Chelsea went about their business is a ruthless fashion against Mick McCarthy's side.

Florent Malouda put The Blues ahead on five minutes with a brilliant left-foot striker after Jody Craddock failed to clear a routine cross. Chelsea were 3-0 on fifteen minutes thanks to a brace from the outstanding Michael Essien.

There was also some good news for England fans with Joe Cole scoring his first goals for Chelsea in 13 months. The midfielder played the full 90 minutes and appears to have fully recovered from the knee injury which saw him miss most of last season.
