Celtic beat Rangers but Old Firm game ends in violence

Last night's Old Firm derby was a pulsating game of football with some cracking goals. But the game ended in violence as the two teams fought on the pitch and in the tunnel after the final whistle at Parkhead.

Nakamura had put Celtic ahead with an absolute screamer before Nacho Novo equalized for Rangers. But the tension spilled over when Vennegoor of Hesselink won the game for Celtic with a late goal that keeps their title hopes alive.

Scotland stars Barry Ferguson ans Stephen Mc Manus had a go at each other on the final whistle and were soon joined in a melee by the rest of their team-mates. Ranger's David Weir and Celtic's Gary Caldwell were both given red cards after the final whistle.

While the scenes weren't quite as bad as this South American punch up, last night's events will probably see heavy fines and lengthy suspensions being handed out to both the clubs and individual players.
