Caster Semenya wins again

Caster Semenya has won her second race in a row since returning to competition, clocking an impressive two minutes, 2.41 seconds in the 800m at the Savo Games at Lapinlahti in Finland.

Nineteen-year-old South African Semenya had already won her first race for 11 months after coming back from gender tests, but today she was almost two seconds faster than on Thursday. Somewhat scarilòy, she claims she can run even faster, and is targeting the Commonwealth Games in October as her chance to return to the big stage.

‘I got what I was looking for but next time I want to run the first 600m faster, in 1:28 or 1:29,’ she said. ‘This wasn't easier than in Lappeenranta as I had to push hard to the wind in the second lap.’
