Carling Cup round-up

Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson has praised Javier Hernandez after his late winner at home to Wolves put them through to the quarter finals of the Carling Cup.

United won 3-2 thanks to Hernandez, and Ferguson says that he deserves all the praise he is getting at the moment, and even using the cliché that says he is the first out on the training ground every morning and the last off in the afternoon.

‘They tend to build heroes quickly here but he's justifying the praise at the moment,’ said Ferguson. ‘When he gets a chance you know he's going to take it. His touch, control of the ball and vision are all improving.

‘He was absolutely brilliant - it was a magnificent goal. He's shaped to shoot, dummied the defender and finished really well.’
