Capello: Move to Italy would make Lampard even better
Fabio Capello has suggested that a move to Italy would be good for Frank Lampard's career making him an even better player. The Chelsea and England midfielder has been linked to Inter Milan following the appointment of former Blues boss Jose Mourinho last week.
Lampard is reported to have been offered a new deal worth around £130,000 per week to stay at the London club but the former West Ham player may be tempted by the chance to work with Mourinho again and to experience football in Serie A.
The England boss believes that playing overseas helps players to develop their ability and with Lampard's international place under threat from Gareth Barry a move to the continent could also help the Blues midfielder cement his place in England's midfield.
Capello also said that he has narrowed down the short list for permanent England captain to two names. He will make his final decision in August but it looks like it will be one out of John Terry and Rio Ferdinand.
