Capello leaves Foster out of England squad

Fabio Capello announced the England squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against the Ukraine and Belarus but there was no place for Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster who was omitted because of a mystery injury.

The 26-year-old has had a decent run in the United first team due to Edwin van der Sar's hand injury but has committed a number of basic errors which appear to have affected his confidence. Veteran keeper David James has been recalled to the squad in Foster's place.

Despite enjoying a good run of form Spurs striker Jermain Defoe has been left out because of a broken finger. While Darren Bent has been knocking goals in for fun for Sunderland it is Aston Villa's Gabriel Agbonlahor who gets the nod although there is no place for his teammate Ashley Young.
