Capello: England need to improve quickly
England manager Fabio Capello has said that his team must improve quickly ahead of the start of the World Cup qualifying campaign in the autumn. The Italian is set to return to London on Monday to start preparing for England's friendly with the Czech Republic on August 20.
Speaking to the Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy, Capello made it clear that England will need to step up a level after two relatively easy summer friendly wins against Trinidad & Tobago and the US: "With respect to our last two games we must start again and show improvements. I expect my players to continue doing what I ask them to do."
So far Capello's England have been underwhelming and will need to start well in a qualifying group that includes Euro 2008 nemeses Croatia as well as the Ukraine. Goalkeeper would appear to be England's main area for concern and Capello will be hoping that Paul Robinson's move to Blackburn can see the Yorkshire native regain his confidence and challenge David James.
