Borthwick retains England captaincy for Six Nations

Steve Borthwick will continue as England captain for the upcoming Six Nations Championship which kicks off in February. England manager Martin Johnson confirmed the news after the squad returned from a training camp in Portugal.

Borthwick has captained England in every Test since Johnson took over back in 2008 but there was speculation that he would be replaced following a disappointing Autumn series and Six Nations last year. However, the Saracens second row is now set to lead from the engine room in this year's Championship.

Injury to props Andrew Sheridan and Julian White has led to Worcester loose-head Matt Mullen and Leicester tight-head Dan Cole been drafted into the England squad. Leicester scrum-half Ben Youngs and the back-row pairing of Dan Ward-Smith and Chris Robshaw have been given the nod.
