Berbatov finally signs for Manchester United
Manchester United have finally completed the signing of Dimitar Berbatov from Spurs in a deal believed to be worth £30.75m. The move ends months of speculation over the Bulgarian striker's future.
Berbatov said that joining Manchester United was a dream move, but at one point yesterday it looked as if the sulking Bulgarian might be heading to the Red Devil's rivals Manchester City. Following yesterday's £200m takeover by the Abu Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment, City made an audacious £34m bid for the Bulgarian.
But the 27-year-old former Bayer Leverkusen striker was set on joining last season's Champions League winners and didn't even meet with City manager Mark Hughes. In the end Tottenham still bagged £30m and offloaded a player who clearly didn't want to play for them anymore.
