Bellamy set to miss the rest of the season

Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy looks set to miss the rest of the season with a recurring knee injury. The news comes as a hammer blow for under pressure City boss Mark Hughes who bought the Wales captain from West Ham during the January transfer window.

Hughes spoke to the press about Bellamy's injury earlier today: "Craig has got to have complete rest for two weeks then he comes back for strength work. Hopefully he might get the last couple of games, but the probability is that he won't."

On a brighter note for City, Bulgaria forward Valeri Bojinov will make his comeback from injury tonight in a reserve match. "He needs more physical work and we're hoping he comes through at Middlesbrough to be available at the weekend," Hughes told reporters.
