Bellamy set to leave Manchester City

Manchester City look set to offload Craig Bellamy after completing the signing of David Silva from Valencia for £25m.

Bellamy was one of City’s best players last season but had a number of disagreements with Roberto Mancini who has decided that the Welsh international is surplus to requirements.

Tottenham have been linked with a move for Bellamy, however, the 31-year-old, who earns £95,000 per week, would need to take a pay cut in order to join the London club.

World Cup winner Silva joins Jérôme Boateng and Yaya Touré as City’s new arrivals this summer and the club are reported to be interested in signing James Milner from Aston Villa as well as Mario Balotelli of Inter and Edin Dzeko of Wolfsburg.

Bellamy is not the only player likely to leave Eastlands before the new Premier League season gets underway next month. Roque Santa Cruz has been told that he no longer features in Mancini’s plans while Robinho and Stephen Ireland have both asked to leave the club.
