Beckham's Milan future to be decided by Friday
David Beckham's Milan future will be decided by Friday according to reports on the backpages of a number of newspapers. The former England captain has openly declared his desire to remain at Italian side beyond his current short-term loan deal but the LA Galaxy insist that the midfielder will return to the US at the beginning of March.
Milan are believed to have offered £10m for Beckham, although the MLS are reported to be looking for almost double that figure which seems a bit steep for a 33-year-old. But Milan president Adriano Galliani has underlined that the Serie A club want to retain the former Manchester United midfielder's services.
"We are negotiating and trying to resolve the problem," Galliani told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "Friday could be the crucial day. Between our offer and their request there is still a margin but the will of the player is to remain. We will have to wait and see how this situation develops — there is still time." Meanwhile Beckham looks set to line out for the Rossoneri in tomorrow's Uefa Cup clash with Werder Bremen.
