Beckham to remain at Milan

David Beckham will remain at AC Milan until the end of the current season before returning to the LA Galaxy in July. The so-called timeshare deal will see the England midfielder return to Milan at the end of the MLS season in November.

Beckham is believed to have funded the loan deal himself with the hope of retaining his place in the England squad for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The agreement between Milan and the Galaxy comes after weeks of speculation over Becks future with the MLS club reported to be looking for a fee of £12m for the erstwhile England captain.

Beckham signed for the Galaxy in 2007 on a five-year contract, but he also has a get-out clause which can be exercised in November 2009. Either way it looks as if the former Manchester United player's time in the MLS is coming to its conclusion.
