Beckham set for Milan return

AC Milan are just hours away from officially confirming David Beckham's return to the San Siro in January according to the club's vice-president Adriano Galliani.

The England midfielder has been linked with a second loan period at the Serie A giants during the MLS off season as he looks to cement a place in Fabio Capello's World Cup squad next summer.

Speaking to reporters in Italy earlier today Galliani made it clear that a deal had been done to secure Becks for another few months: "The agreement for David Beckham has been completed."

"In a few hours we and Galaxy will officially announce this deal. We are just waiting for the very last documents but I confirm that he will return to Milan."

Beckham spent three months at the San Siro last year and made an instant impression with both the fans and the management. Milan boss Leonardo also welcomed the news of Beckham's imminent return.

"I consider Beckham as if he had always been here because he has only been away for six months," the Brazilian said. "In any case he will be a player that will contribute a lot, not only on the pitch but also inside the group, as the players like him infinitely."
