With speculation over his footballing future mounting, David Beckham has hinted that negotiations to earn him a permanent move to Serie A side AC Milan are moving in a positive direction.
The former England captain has underlined his desire to remain in Milan despite his short-term loan deal running out at the start of March. Beckham's current club, the LA Galaxy, are reported to have turned down Milan's £3m offer for the 33-year-old earlier in the week.
But just when it seemed that the death knell had been sounded on Goldenballs dream move he has hinted on the Rossoneri's website that an agreement between the two parties could be close.
"I have not heard from Galaxy, but from what has been said, I gather there could be good news." Beckham is quoted as saying. "I want to stay at Milan. I really don't know what will happen, but I do know that next week will be very important."
