Beckham close to agreeing Milan return

David Beckham is close to agreeing a deal which will see him return to Italian giants AC Milan for a second loan spell this winter according to an interview with the England midfielder in the Mail on Sunday.

"There are other options available but none that will stop me going to Milan," Becks is quoted as saying in the paper. "It is close to being finalised. When I left (Milan), they said they wanted me to come straight back. I had such a marvellous time there. They're a great club."

England manager Fabio Capello has made it clear that the 34-year-old will have to play during the MLS off-season if he wants to be in contention for a place in the final squad for the World Cup in South Africa.

Beckham impressed during his loan spell in Serie A last year leading to an international recall after being originally overlooked by Capello. With Milan struggling for form so far this season the former Manchester United player would be more than welcome if he returns to the San Siro.
