Beckenbeur slaps €94m price tag on Ribery
Bayern Munich president, Franz Beckenbeur, has slapped a €94m (£81m) price tag on the German club's unsettled midfielder Franck Ribery. The French international's future has been subject with Real Madrid believed to be interested in signing the 26-year-old.
"All this noise is not necessary," Beckenbauer told reporters when quizzed about Ribery's future. "Especially not when you have a new coach coming into the team, who wants to prepare it in a calm way and not having to deal with the Ribéry issue every day.
"But should Bayern just give Ribéry away? We naturally want what the market demands and if Cristiano Ronaldo is worth €94 million then Ribéry is worth a similar amount. And if this is not being offered then he will just have to stay with us as he has a contract until 2011."
The German giants have repeatedly underlined that the former Marseille player is not for sale but it now remains to be seen if Real are willing to meet Munich's price.
