Bayern for Mourinho

Bayern Munich made their way to the Champions League final for the first time since they beat Valencia on penalties back in 2001 last night, beating French side Lyon 3-0 in France, going through 4-0 on aggregate. They await the winner of the tonight’s clash between Inter and Barcelona for the final, which takes place at the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid.

Ivica Olic scored all three goals in the blistering display of counter-attacking football that the Bavarian club put on, led chiefly by their very own wing wizard Arjen Robben, who is looking to put one up his old boss José Mourinho, should Inter defend their two-goal lead against Barca tonight.

‘I want to play Inter,’ said Robben. ‘I want to play against Mourinho and Wesley Sneijder. It's better for us as a team. We can have more difficulties against Barca. We were much the better team today, we played a great game. We didn't sit back and wait for them to come, we played aggressively, with attacking football and didn't let them come into the game. I'm very proud. Very proud of the team and happy to reach the final. It's a great season.

‘It’s incredible to win by this score and to have scored three goals,’ said Olic. ‘We played really well, my team-mates made my job easier by creating a lot of spaces and scoring opportunities. It's maybe the best match of my life, but it's above all a very good performance by the whole of the team. We will have to do the same thing in the final.’
