Aston Villa beat Hull 1-0 to move into fourth place
Aston Villa beat Hull City 1-0 this evening to leapfrog over Arsenal into fourth place in the Premier League. The hard fought victory came courtesy of an 88th minute own goal from the unfortunate Kamil Zayette.
Hull were looking to bounce back from their Boxing Day hammering at Manchester City and the much publicised half time dressing down they received from manager Phil Brown. The Tigers made life difficult for Villa but were dealt a hammer blow with Zayette's own goal 12 minutes from time.
Referee dramatically awarded Hull an injury time penalty for a non-existent handball but the decision was correctly overturned after the man in the middle consulted his assistant. Aston Villa are now level on points with Manchester United but they'll need to strengthen their squad if they want to sustain their early good form.
