Ashley Cole arrested for drunk and disorderly
Chelsea and England left-back Ashley Cole was arrested earlier today on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly. The famous footballer was arrested in South Kensington in the wee hours of Thursday morning before being released after paying the standard £80 fine for drunk and disorderly.
A spokesperson for Scotland Yard confirmed the arrest in a statement this afternoon: "We can confirm a 28-year-old man was arrested at approximately 2.15am in Brompton Road on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly. He was taken to a central London police station where he was issued with a fixed-penalty notice for being drunk and disorderly and released shortly after 5.30am."
Cole is reported to have attended a charity event in the Armani Store on Brompton road whose other guests included Eddie Jordan, Graeme Le Saux and Alice Beer. Cheryl Cole, Ashley's wife, is currently climbing Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief. When the cat's away...
